The Institute

Operating since 2010, the Institute of Learning and Teaching created by the International School of Geneva (Ecolint) exists to promote lifelong learning among members of the Ecolint community, and beyond. The Institute seeks to lead and support best pedagogical practice, to promote Foundation-wide educational initiatives, and to encourage and disseminate the results of educational research within the Foundation while ensuring the school’s visibility in local and international educational communities.

To ensure these aims, the Institute offers professional development opportunities through trainings and educational events.  All of our flagship programmes and courses are open to the public as well as Ecolint staff.

Join our mailing list to stay up-to-date with the latest information and courses from the Institute.

The International School of Geneva (Ecolint)

Ecolint, the world’s first ever international school, was founded in 1924 by local pedagogical innovators and civil servants from the ILO and the League of Nations (the precursor to the UN). With 140 nationalities and 80 mother tongues, there is no school on earth with a more extraordinarily diverse student body.

Ecolint exists to educate for peace and to inculcate strong humanitarian values of inclusiveness, respect and inter-cultural understanding in everything we do.

Committed to bilingualism, and resolutely not-for-profit, we have been educating for a better world for over 90 years.
