Course Overview

This workshop explores how educators can responsibly use AI to streamline report cards and family communications. Participants will learn best practices for drafting clear, time-saving messages while ensuring feedback remains personalised and meaningful. Through hands-on practice, attendees will learn to refine AI-generated drafts into authentic professional reflections. We will also dive into essential ethical considerations, including privacy, transparency, and equity, to ensure all communication remains trustworthy and professional.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Identify responsible and inappropriate uses of AI in writing report card comments, including strategies for safeguarding student privacy and avoiding generic feedback.
  • Apply AI tools to generate draft report card comments and refine them to create personalised, authentic, and balanced student feedback.
  • Adapt AI tools to streamline routine professional communications, including daily emails, curriculum newsletters, and informational letters, ensuring tone, clarity, and accessibility for diverse family audiences.$
  • Evaluate ethical challenges associated with AI-generated content and develop actionable solutions to ensure responsible and transparent reporting practices.

Outcome

Upon completion, teachers will confidently use AI tools to draft and refine report comments and family communications with greater efficiency and clarity, while safeguarding student privacy, applying ethical standards, and maintaining a professional, authentic tone.
