Fusion Maths Curriculum

I report on a unique project, Fusion Maths, which brings together the strengths of Chinese and English course designs the creation of a particular pedagogy framework for it – Causal Connectivity – and its corresponding assessment.

Currently in the design phase, a key feature of the curriculum is that it covers the whole maths syllabus (Key Stage 3 and 4, age 12 to 16) at the end of Year 9 (age 13-14), while encouraging collaborative work in the classroom – a feature also incorporated into formal assessment. A small Year 7 class took part in a pilot of the framework during the 2018 academic year, and every student showed dramatic improvements in academic levels achieved.
