Abstract: Building a research culture in schools: Lessons from Wellington College China

The presentation initially establishes that fact that there exists a dearth of contextually relevant research in international education; especially in the context of China. This renders the sector deficient in directly appropriate research.
The responsibility for finding answers to the many questions educators face falls firmly with schools picking up the gauntlet to lead research. The presentation will introduce the approach taken by Wellington College China in developing a research culture including a summary of current projects; both with the group and with Chinese education institutions.
