Unlocking the potential of distributed leadership: The case for collective teacher efficacy (CTE)

Great schools are founded on a culture of authority and agency. Distributed leadership models are employed as a means realising these aims. But how can we ensure the authority and agency promoted has impact? Especially at the classroom level.

This session introduces the importance of collective teacher efficacy (CTE) as a means defining the authority and agency that results in impact. A pilot study undertaken across Wellington College China will be introduced as a means of sharing examples of strategies to raise levels of CTE and assist in driving distributed leadership.
