C’est la Rentrée !
Comme dans toutes les écoles, le début d'une nouvelle année académique à l'Institut a commencé dans l’effervescence : installation de notre nouvelle salle de formation professionnelle dans le bâtiment “Genève” au Campus des Nations, arrivée de nouveaux étudiants, lancement de projets et d'opportunités de formation pour le personnel… C'est parti ! Dans cette édition du Bulletin de l’éducation, nous partageons avec vous un aperçu de ce qui se passe à l'Institut ce trimestre et de ce que nous vous proposons.
Like all schools, the start of a new academic year at the Institute has begun with a flurry of excitement. Setting up our new professional training classroom in the Geneva building at Campus des Nations, new students arriving, launching projects and training opportunities for staff. It’s all go! In this edition of the newsletter, we hope to share with you a flavour of what’s happening at the Institute this term and how you can get involved.
Institute catalogue for 2023-2024
In addition to a soft skills programme, the Institute offers a wide range of professional learning opportunities that are designed to reflect, reinforce and support Ecolint’s commitment to Inclusion, Education for Peace, and Sustainability. Courses such as The Learning Principles, Teaching to Multilingual Learners, Transforming our Perceptions of Childhood, and Mind and Planet, for example, have been developed in alignment with priorities for learning and teaching in all our schools. These Ecolint bespoke courses follow the most recent thinking about effective professional learning. Blending theory with practical application, our focus is on collaboration across the schools and peer support for reflective practitioners.
En plus d'un programme de compétences relationnelles et personnelles, l'Institut offre un large éventail d'opportunités d'apprentissage professionnel conçues pour refléter, renforcer et soutenir l'engagement de l'Ecolint en faveur de l'inclusion, de l'éducation à la paix et de la durabilité. Des cours tels que Les principes d'apprentissage, Enseigner aux apprenants multilingues, Transformer nos perceptions de l'enfance, et L'esprit et la planète, par exemple, ont été développés en ligne avec les priorités de l'apprentissage et de l'enseignement dans toutes nos écoles. Ces cours sur mesure de l'Ecolint s'appuient sur les réflexions les plus récentes en matière d'apprentissage professionnel efficace. Mêlant théorie et application concrète, nous mettons l'accent sur la collaboration entre les écoles et le soutien par les pairs pour les praticiens désireux de réfléchir à leur pratique.

Ecolint/Durham University Initial Teacher Training Programme (PGCE International)
This year, after receiving applications from over 20 candidates, 17 trainees were accepted onto the programme. The 2023-2024 cohort consists of 9 Primary and 8 Secondary teachers. As in other years, our students come from varied previous professional backgrounds and many different countries.
Le programme de formation initiale des enseignants de l'Ecolint/Durham University est un succès grâce au soutien de beaucoup d'entre vous au sein de la Fondation et dans nos écoles partenaires de la région qui soutiennent nos étudiants dans leurs stages cette année (Collège du Léman, Haut-Lac, Geneva English School, Institut Florimont, International School of Lausanne, Institut International de Lancy, La Découverte, British School of Geneva, et Collège Champittet).
The Ecolint/Durham University initial teacher training course is successful thanks to the support from many of you in the Foundation and in our area partner schools who are supporting our students in their school placements this year (Collège du Léman, Haut-Lac, the Geneva English School, Institut Florimont, International School of Lausanne, Institut International de Lancy, La Découverte, the British School of Geneva, and Collège Champittet).
We would like to thank everyone who has served as a mentor or school link, offered a workshop session, or contributed in any other way to this exceptional programme. Mentoring a trainee is a powerful experience in professional learning for both the novice and the veteran teacher.

Notre travail continu sur l'Inclusion
The October 6th Foundation Ped Day will focus on Inclusion in the broadest possible sense with many opportunities to learn about the ways in which we all contribute to meeting student needs and to the creation of an inclusive learning environment.
Les membres du groupe de travail sur l'inclusion continuent à travailler dans toute une série de domaines qui nous permettront de vivre plus pleinement notre mission telle qu'elle est énoncée dans ce document, L’inclusion à l’Ecolint. This document includes the aligned policies and procedures for learning support and ESP in all schools, primary and secondary and emphasizes our commitment to shared responsibility for the success of all our learners.
